Air Conditioner Repair Experts
Homey Solutions is Portland's go-to air conditioner repair team, keeping homes and businesses comfortable when the Pacific Northwest heats up. We cover the city and the suburbs, from Sellwood, Hawthorne, Alberta, and St. Johns out through Beaverton, Tigard, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, and Gresham. Our certified HVAC technicians diagnose and fix every brand and model quickly, with upfront pricing and no surprises.
Portland asks a lot of its cooling equipment in a short window. Systems here run hard for a few weeks and sit untouched the rest of the year, and parts wear out whether the unit runs or not. A lot of the systems we service were also put in fast, in the rush after June 2021, when the city hit 116 degrees and everyone wanted cooling at once. Those units are four and five years old now, and some of them are showing where corners were cut.
Air Conditioner Repairs We Handle
Portland summers have become more intense, and many homes here weren't originally built with central air in mind. Older systems, retrofitted equipment, and units that only run a few months out of the year can develop problems fast when temperatures climb.
Our technicians are experienced with the full range of issues that come with both aging equipment and newer high-efficiency systems, including the ductless units common across Portland's older housing stock.
Common air conditioner repairs we handle include:
-
Refrigerant leaks, low charge, and frozen evaporator coils
-
Compressor failures and fan motor problems
-
Faulty capacitors, contactors, and control boards
-
Thermostat and sensor malfunctions
-
Clogged drain lines causing water damage or indoor flooding
-
Weak airflow due to blower or ductwork issues
-
Systems that short-cycle or won't reach the set temperature
Most of our air conditioner repairs are completed in a single visit. We carry parts for all major brands, including Trane, Mitsubishi Electric, and more. We also provide honest, straightforward diagnoses and clear estimates before any work begins, so you stay in control of the decision.
Common Signs Your Portland Home Needs Air Conditioner Repair
Portland's hot stretches don't last long, but they hit hard. If your AC is already showing signs of trouble, it won't hold up when you need it most. Don't wait for a full breakdown. Call us if you notice any of the following:
Uneven cooling or hot spots throughout your home
Grinding, squealing, rattling, or other unusual noises
Unexplained spikes in your monthly energy bills
The system runs constantly but can't cool your space
Musty or unpleasant odors coming from your vents
Excess humidity indoors or water pooling near the air handler
If any of these sound familiar, call us before the next hot stretch. Catching a problem early is almost always the cheaper repair, and it keeps your system from failing in the week every company in the city is booked out.
